Why Pokémon?
I'm a pretty big Pokémon fan. IMHO it's a fantastic series of games that brings a very high level of strategy to the RPG genre, and it's one of very few RPGs that actually focuses on the multiplayer aspect of battling (and multiplayer is, of course, the most fun way to enjoy a game :P).
So far I've bought Pokémon Blue, Silver, Sapphire, and soon Diamond or Pearl, on which I'm eagerly awaiting information.
Nicknames
I never gave my Pokémon in Blue or Silver nicknames. However, starting with Sapphire, I thought it'd be a great idea to start giving all of my Pokémon a nickname; it seems only sensible to call them by their names and not their species, and besides it's a lot of fun thinking up names.
Sometimes I come up with really stupid names, other times really clever ones. Here's a list of all the Pokémon I've nicknamed in my Sapphire version; it might amuse you :)
